Medal Campo del Fiori

The original was discovered in 1897 at Campo del Fiori sqare in Rome. The porttayed profile resembles the images of Christ, probably authentic ones: Veraicon, the image of Edessa, Turin. It suits a description of Jesus written by Dublius Lentulus, the governor of Judea. On the other side there is a sign in Hebrew: The Saviour reigned over us. He came with peace and is still living in people's hearts as a light of hope. The medal was made before the year 66 and it was used among Christians as a recognition sign.

Exact copy of an ancient medal with the image of Christ made of silver or brass.
